Drone Pilot Guide USA is three things. It's a guide to where drones can legally fly in the United States, with every rule linked to its source. It's a short shop of drones and gear picked by Darin Chamberlin, an FAA Part 107 pilot. And it's a referral service: book any drone service anywhere, from real estate photos to thermal inspections and LiDAR mapping. Darin shoots drone photos and video, and airplane aerial photography, in Eastern Iowa himself; every other job goes to a qualified local pilot.
Rules change often, especially for state parks and temporary flight restrictions. Every rule here was checked in October 2026; check the live source and B4UFLY or LAANC before every flight.

Darin Chamberlin has wanted a flying camera for 40 years. Before drones, he tied his iPhone to kites and balloons to try to get the shot. It swung, spun and barely worked. He bought toy drones, then better ones, and learned to fly. He has held the FAA Part 107 certificate required to fly for hire for many years, and he has run Landforms Design Inc. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa since 1984.
